Traveling too much

A few years ago, Michael was traveling all of the time for his job. It was pretty bad. It started off as just a couple of days every few months or so, but then it got to be almost 2 weeks out of a month. At one point he was gone for somewhere around 5-7 weeks. Now...I do realize that is nothing for some people, but we like to be together as a family...a lot. The boys and I are quality time in the love language department. It was not good.

I am so glad that Michael does not travel like that any more. One thing I do miss about that travel though is sometimes being able to go with him and being able to stay in really nice motels (the boys loved swimming in the pool). We loved staying at the Residence Inn in Portland by the riverfront. We loved walking on the riverfront and getting lunch in one of the cafe's. We also went with him a couple of times to Seattle, WA. That was also a lot of fun.

I cannot imagine how military families do it, being gone for so long. I have a hard enough time with one night. I don't like to go to sleep without him here.
