Five on Friday

  • Olympic Games

I absolutely love watching the Olympics. I have done so since I was a teenager. I really got into the Olympics when I was pregnant with Cam. The summer Olympics happened that year. I wrote down all of the people from the US that won medals. Some of the names that stuck out to me were: Amanda Beard (swimming), Gary Hall, Jr. (swimming), Amy VanDyken (swimming), Jenny Thompson (swimming), Jeremy Lind (swimming), Dominique Dawes (gymnastics), Gail Devers (track and field), Carl Lewis (track and field), Michael Johnson (track and field), and Jackie Joyner Kersey (track and field). I still continue to really love the Olympics. I mostly love the swimming events for the summer Olympics. Of course, Michael Phelps is one of my favorites to watch (although I loved Gary Hall, Jr. in the 1996 Olympics). This year will be no different. I will mostly watch the swimming events, but I will also watch the track and field events, the diving events, and the water rowing events. I really don't care much anymore for the gymnastic events...I watched way way way too many of them growing up--now I just don't care about it any more. I love the swimming and diving events most.

  • An organized house

Ideas for an organized kitchen collage:

We are really beginning to get our house super organized. I am so jazzed about this. We are really simplifying everything...I love it so much.

  • Cleaning out shed and garage this weekend and next

These garage organization tips will help you create an organized and effective space. (scheduled via http://www.tailwindapp.com?utm_source=pinterest&utm_medium=twpin&utm_content=post877483&utm_campaign=scheduler_attribution):

We are going to clean out the shed and garage this weekend. I cannot wait to get it done. The garage has been a mess for a while, and I am just ready to get it all neat and organized.

  • The Malibu is finally here

The Malibu is finally here. The timing was a little stressful, but we will get that all worked out...in time. We are just glad that it is finally back with Michael.

  • Our yard finally looks great

    • The past 4 years or so I have just let the yard go...I was tired of watering it every week. This year I decided to start taking care of it again, and it really is starting to look good. I am really happy with it.

      Five on Friday

Here are my Five on Friday:

      O N E:
This week I brought home some great recipe books from the Library.

      T W O:
I got Karen Kingsbury's new book at the Library. So far it is so good. She is one of my favorite authors.

      T H R E E:
When Michael is away I always purchase and make special food for the boys. They really enjoy all of the special food.

I made cream cheese frosting to put on this--the boys loved it
      Jar's favorite

      cousin recommended this

I also made some special food for them. I made them a "Thanksgiving dinner in a bowl." I also made BBQ chicken pizza and chocolate chip cookies.

      F O U R:
Jar did some building this week. I love how he lays out everything in his room. Poor guy--he needs more room.

      F I V E:
I enjoyed some relaxing moments in between doing lots of chores yesterday.

      Five on Friday

Here are my Five on Friday:

      O N E:
This month I received some awesome beauty products. I love it when that happens. I am pretty picky with my products.

This lipstick is awesome--a really natural color in matte finish

This shave cream from Birchbox is my favorite...it does not dry my skin out

      This hand cream smells awesome

This is a new Sally Hansen gel polish...I can't wait to try it

My sister got this for me for my birthday. I have always wanted to try it, but I had not done so yet. I love it.

      T W O:
Sometimes Target has some neat treats up in the $1.00 section. We picked up a few this past week. The boys loved the Japanese cookies.

      T H R E E:
These are some new clothes that I bought for Michael. I love the grey. One pair of pants came home with the store security tag on it.

      F O U R:
This is my first selfie. We have taken family selfies before, but this is the first of just me. I was cleaning and organizing the house.

      F I V E:
I picked up some fall M & M's last week. Everyone really liked the white chocolate/candy corn M & M's best.

      Five on Friday

Here are my Five on Friday:

      O N E:
Jar is preparing to take his test for his driver's permit.

      T W O:
We use a lot of bananas every week...I make the boys smoothies after their workout.

      T H R E E:
I got some magazines this month to read.

      F O U R:
Don't you just hate chores. I wash so many dishes during the day. I only use the dishwasher when I just have so many dishes at one time that I just can't stand to wash them. Hey, but I heard someone say one time that a lot of chores...laundry or dishes...means that you have people to do those for--Of that I am very thankful.

      F I V E:
The boys love German pancakes. I don't make them very often (because of the white flour), but last week I made some for them.

      Five on Friday

Here are my Five on Friday:

      O N E:
Lily is such a cutie pie, but I have to cut her hair off this weekend. I always hate to do it, but it really knots up if I don't.

      T W O:
I love beautiful personal planners and pens with which to write. I also love my journals and writing in them.

      T H R E E:
The grass is finally greening up in the back yard. It was dead looking all summer long.

      F O U R:
I eat breakfast close to lunchtime...like 11:00 or 11:30 a.m. I usually have eggs and Ezekiel 4:9 raisin bread. Sometimes, I will have bacon or chicken sausage with it.

      F I V E:
I read a really good book about cleansing your liver. I want to implement some of the ideas this next week.
