Things I Love

1)   2)   3)   4)   5)

1) lake houses

I have always wanted to own a house on the lake. I think this would be so much fun. Although I love small coastal towns a lot, the ocean water is just really rough on houses. I would not want to upkeep that. I would love to own a small cabin on the water and have a Pontoon boat and jet skis. That would be fun!! For now, we will just rent, so we don't have to upkeep it ourselves.

2) summer BBQ food

There is nothing better than summer food: watermelon, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, grilled chicken and steak, corn on the cob, strawberry spinach salad, pasta salad, ice cream, grilled veggies. Yummo! My mouth is watering.

3)  flower gardens

I have always loved gardening. I used to have lots of flower gardens in Pennsylvania. I don't do quite as much here, but I still love to have spring and summer blooming flowers. It is just so peaceful.

4) summer nights

Summer nights are the best. The sounds of the frogs in the retention pond and the crickets chirping are just beautiful music to my ears. I love to hear lawn mowers running and smell grills cooking some delicious meat. I love to play games in the back yard or even have a campfire in the fire pit. I want to spend more time in the back yard this summer.

5) backyard patios

To be able to do the above mentioned you need a great backyard patio. We don't have the best one, but at least we have one to enjoy. We also have the fire pit to go with it. I especially love to have my devotions and read and journal out on the back patio in the morning or afternoon.

Things I Love

1)  2)  3)  4)  5)

1) tigers

Tigers have been my favorite animal since I was a young girl. I find them absolutely fascinating. I think they are the most beautiful of all of God's animals. I get goose bumps when I see one at a zoo, or even when I see one in person. I love them!

2) dolphins

Not far behind my love of tigers is my love of dolphins. I also find these animals fascinating. I have pet one before at Disney's Animal Kingdom. I want to swim with one now...that is on my bucket list.

3)  Sea Lions

I find these animals absolutely hilarious...and because I love to laugh, they are one of my favorite animals. When we have gone to Sea World or Animal Kingdom, my favorite shows were always the sea lion shows. They were just always so funny. (I call our dog Zena a sea lion...when she sits and looks up at me with those brown eyes, I swear she looks like a sea lion).

4) Baby Goats

I think baby goats are the cutest little things. They are funny to watch as well. When the boys were little, my mom and I took them to the Tioga Fair, and we watched a goat showing. There was an older lady in front of us that kept making wise cracks about the goats and then turning around and bumping my leg in including us in her "funny". My mom and I have never laughed so hard in all our lives. The funny thing was that this lady was dressed all prim and proper with a jumper and red shirt on with matching red shoes. What a hoot!

5) Horses

Tigers and dolphins are my favorite animals, but I also have a deep rooted love for horses. I have adored them since I was a little girl. I actually collected horse figurines, which I loved...and then my grandma made me a horse blanket (which I used so much that it literally fell apart). Also, my grandpa had Shetland ponies and a Welsh pony. He actually had between 30 and 50 horses at one time. He was raising them and trying to sell them for money. My mom's pony was named Flicka; Flicka's mom, Princess, bit my mom's sister, Kathy, on the arm through two layers of winter coats. I wish that I had a photo of all of his horses...that would be amazing!

1) chocolate

I love chocolate a lot...I love chocolate cake with chocolate icing...I love good quality chocolate candy...I love good chocolate ice cream. I don't love any chocolate; it has to be good quality tasting. I also don't like it to be too sweet.

2) chocolate ice cream

As I stated above, I love chocolate ice cream. I am really picky when it comes to chocolate ice cream though. I love Breyers chocolate ice cream a lot. I really don't eat dairy, so I don't have ice cream very much at all. But...I still love chocolate ice cream every once in a great while.

3)  pepperoni and pepperoni pizza

I absolutely love pepperoni. I don't eat it that often at all (and it must be nitrate free), but when I do, I just savor the flavor. I also love pepperoni pizza. I really am not eating grains much at all, so I don't eat much pizza (I will sometimes just eat the toppings off the pizza). But, I absolutely love pizza.

4) coffee ice cream

I love coffee ice cream...again, just like the chocolate ice cream, it must be good quality. I have loved coffee ice cream ever since I can remember (my mom always loved it too). When I want to splurge, I will get a small container of coffee ice cream.

5) mint chocolate chip ice cream

I love mint chocolate chip ice cream. This is the ice cream I am most picky about. It must be mint chocolate chip, not mint chocolate chunk, or mint cookies and cream. It also must be good quality...and not too too minty. I have loved this since I was a small girl. I remember getting this or peanut butter cup when I would go to fairs or amusement parks.

Things I Love

1)  2)  3)  4)  5)

1) farm fields

I love the country. I grew up all of my life in the country...and I loved it. I love taking drives in the country...I love to see the beautiful fields. It is spectacular.

2) iced tea

I love iced tea. My mom made iced tea when I was growing up...in the country. There is nothing better on a hot summer's day than a tall glass of iced tea.

3)  guitars

I want to learn how to play the guitar so badly. I really just need to start some tutorials...instead of talking about it. I just love how a guitar sounds...and I like that you can take it anywhere with you. Because I love to sing so much, I need to learn to play the guitar...then I can play and sing (my family will just love that) ha ha

4) warm sunny days

I love the sun!!! I love a warm sunny day outside. This photo reminds me of growing up in the country. I did not go surfing, but I road my bike everywhere. There was nothing like it. I love to just sit outside in the back yard soaking up the sun. It is oh so relaxing!

5) baseball hats

I love girl's baseball hats. I wear them a lot in the summer. I love to wear them when we go camping. I would like to own a lot more. I am picky though about my hats. I like them to look really girly (no man baseball hats for me). I like team baseball hats, but I also like outdoorsy baseball hats too (like girly camouflage hats)

Favorite New Purchases

These are some new products that I have purchased. My hand mixer finally blew up. In 22 years of marriage, I have only had two cheap hand-held mixers. This time I bought a little more expensive one ($39.99--it was regularly $89.99). I usually buy $15.00 mixers.

I have been using whole psyllium husks for the past month now. I don't love drinking it, but it has made a huge difference in my bowel movements. I am like my Grandma--let's just say I can sometimes only go once a day. This psyllium husk has allowed me to go 3-5 times a day.

This is the vitamin that I have chosen for all of us to take every day. It is a real food superfood green drink. I just got this.

I have been using essential oils for many different things. I just got these essential oils to use in my diffuser for a Christmas smell. (spruce, balsam fir, cinnamon).

This vitamin D-3 is not a new one for me, but it was worth putting there. I take this every day as well. It is better to get vitamin D-3 in liquid form, so this is the one I use.

Things I Love

These following things have helped me to sleep better at night...that is why I Love Them.

1)  2)  3)  4)  5)

1) Soft blankets

I love soft blankets. They really do help me to sleep better. I do not sleep with comforters anymore. I sleep with soft blankets.

2) Sound machine

This is one of the best investments for me. I do not like complete silence to sleep...I hear every noise in the house and outside. This constant air conditioner like sound has saved me.

3)  Sleeping mask

I just started using one of these this past week. I have seriously slept better this week than I have slept in the past fifteen years. This is an amazing thing. I purchased this sleeping mask because it allows room for your eyes. I cannot stand my eyelashes touching anything.

Cam and Michael joke with me that it looks like a bra

4) Melatonin

I began this years ago when I started having difficulty sleeping because of anxiety. I only take this when I cannot get to sleep (which is not often lately), or when I go away from home on camping or vacation trips.

5) Magnesium

I began taking 250 mg. of magnesium 3 x's a day about two years ago. This has helped eliminate anxiety almost completely, plus it helps me to have better bowel movements. It also helps me to sleep at night all the way through. I also began having Cam take this at night too, as he was having trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep through the night. It has solved this for him as well. If he forgets to take his magnesium, he will often not sleep through the night.

Things I Love

I love all things vintage...clothes, cars, trucks, suitcases, typewriters, cameras, photos, appliances, bikes, etc. Here are just five of my favorite things.

1)  2)  3)  4)  5)

1) Vintage cameras and photographs

I love cameras to begin with...any kind. But I really love the look of a vintage camera. I also love the look of a vintage photograph. I used to love looking through both of my grandmother's photos. Those photos tell such a story.

2) Vintage typewriters

I have always wanted to own one of these. If I had a larger house, I would have a space for things like vintage typewriters and cameras. I just love them. Because I love to write/journal so much, I love all things typewriter. I especially love the sound of a typewriter.

3)  Vintage cars

I don't think modern cars will ever come to look as cool as vintage cars. They are just so cool looking. I love almost all vintage cars better than today's cars. The only car of today that I really love is the Chrysler 300M. I think they look almost vintage.

4) Vintage luggage

There is nothing cooler to decorate with than vintage luggage. I have seen some amazing things done with vintage luggage. Again, if I had a larger house, I would pile some up as a side table to the bed.

5) Vintage trucks

I love vintage trucks as well. It reminds me of the truck we had when I was growing up...even though it wasn't really vintage (probably 1970's truck). I think vintage trucks are the coolest.

Things I Love

1 2 3 4 5

1. I love this cute cozy room. I would have loved this room when I was growing up as a young girl/teenager. This bed looks so cozy...and I love the plank boards. It is awesome.

2. My mom used to make these butterscotch oatmeal cookies. I love them. I have only made them a couple of times. I know the boys would love them. I will have to make them for them sometime soon.

3. I think this is an awesome idea for a filing cabinet. They are normally so ugly looking...this would be a great way to decorate it and make it look pretty.

4. It is no secret that I love colorful bowls...I especially love small unique bowls. I want a cupboard full of dishes like this.

5. My mom owned these Corelle dishes when I was growing up...this brings back a lot of memories. I drank a lot of tea from these cups, and I also ate a lot of bowls of cereal from the bowls.

Shower Cleaner

I found a product that I absolutely love. I don't know how I have lived without it all these years. I found this product a few months ago. It is called Wet and Forget Shower. You spray it on the shower and shower curtain once a week. It keeps the shower clean. It really works.

Things I Love

I love the changing of the leaves in the fall. I think that it is one of the most beautiful sites to see. When we lived in Pennsylvania, the leaves were such spectacular colors. We have some color here, but not near what they were in PA.

This is the only drink that I like at Starbucks (they seem to be watering down their drinks too much). I can only get this occasionally because the dairy messes me up, but I do love it when I have it.

3)  My Bible

I love my Bible...I love to write in my Bible when I come across something that moves me. I just love the feel of the pages.

4)  Journaling

I just love to journal...I have since I was young. I have really tried to keep up with it recently though. I have really enjoyed it a lot.

I love flannel shirts. I really don't wear them, but I still love them. Michael and I used to have matching flannel shirts.

Things I Love

1)  Special Rocks

I love to find special rocks at the beach. I look for them when I go. I especially look for heart rocks. Cam gave this heart rock to me.

2)  Favorite photo

This is my favorite photo of Michael and I. I can remember this day as clear as can be. We were on our way to see the Blue Angels at Pensacola Beach with our friend Brian. We were stuck in traffic...we got out quickly to get a photo on the bridge that went across the water.

3)  Favorite photos of the boys

I love these photos of the boys when they were younger. They were taken in front of our house during the fall. I love the photos in the black and white.

4)  Jar's hands working on his computer

I love photos of the boys' hands. This is a photo of Jar playing games on his computer with the cousins.

5)  The boys feet

Here is a photo of the boys feet at the beach. I love these kinds of photos.

6)  Cam's hands playing the piano

Cam has played the piano since he was little. He has such long fingers.

Things I Love

1)  Dresser in my room

This picture in my room is one of my favorite pictures that I have purchased for our home. It did not cost much of anything...I think it was from Target. I don't really know why I love it so much.

2)  Tank Tops

I love love love tank tops. I wear them at home all of the time. They just make me feel so much cooler. If I get cold, I can just throw a jacket or sweater over the top.

3)  Hand Lotion

Williams Sonoma makes the best hand lotion. I love both of the Winter fragrances. You must try them.

4)  Dry Skin Brush

I don't do this as often as I would like, but when I do, it feels so good. It hurts a little bit while you are doing it, but after you just feel so refreshed.

5)  Curling Iron

This ceramic curling iron is the best. You have to use the special glove when using it. You just wrap your hair around it, hold, and then bam...you have the best wavy hair ever.

Duct Tape

Duct tape is amazing. It really can be used for so many things. We always make sure that we have duct tape with us at home and when camping.

I found a new use for duct tape. Jar has had an annoying wart on one of his fingers. We have tried everything to get rid of it...tea tree oil, oregano oil, Compound W, Freeze it, and a few others. I decided to try the duct tape method, and it is working. YAHOO

Most Awesome Cooler

This cooler is awesome. It comes with some neat features: a blender, waterproof wireless speakers, USB charger, LED lid light, gear tie-down, beach tires, essential storage, split lid and divider, and bottle opener. I would have loved this when I lived in Pensacola.

Anthropologie Beach Radio

I love retro things. I don't even know when I would really use this radio, but I absolutely love Anthropologie's beach radio. It is so cute.

So these are adorable. (Real radios that you can also use with your iPod.) :: from Anthropologie

Things I Love

1   2   3   4   5

1)  Chemex Coffee Maker

I seriously want one of these. I am not a huge coffee drinker...mainly because I don't like the bitter flavor of it plain. The only way I like it is to add sweetness to it in the form of flavored creamer. This claims that it will make very sweet coffee (and the reviews boast that as well). I would love to try this.

2)  Olives

I love love love olives. (not the fake ones in a jar, but the real fresh ones at the market) I have been making chicken every single day...and it has olives with it. I absolutely love it.

3)  Iced Tea

I have been drinking 2 glasses of green tea iced tea every single day--no sugar. I really have come to love it. It is so refreshing. I usually drink it while I am blogging. My mom used to make sweet iced tea in a green pitcher. I haven't had sweet iced tea in a long time.

4)  Coffee Ice Cream

Okay, so I love coffee ice cream. It is just so refreshing. Breyers has the best in my opinion, but I can rarely find it in our store. I remember going to the fair, and I would either get coffee ice cream or mint chocolate chip ice cream.

5)  Ceiling Fans

Right now I am loving these the most. It is really hot here, and our ceiling fans are running non-stop. We do not have air conditioning, so these are all we have to keep cool. Surprisingly, they really do take enough of the edge off to stay somewhat cool. When it gets really hot, you have to sit right underneath it.
