Christmas

Christmas was a lot of fun and very relaxing. We got to stay in all day long...it sure was nice to be able to just hang out and not go anywhere.

We started our Christmas day with sleeping in til 9:30 or 10:00 and then we just slowly came down to start our day. We read the Christmas story from Luke 2 and sang Christmas songs. We enjoyed opening our presents slowly...enjoying each item received. Then, we had oatmeal and vanilla bean ice cream - a Smith tradition.

We then watched Die Hard 3 and then just rested and the boys enjoyed what they got for Christmas. I made homemade grilled chicken fettuccine Alfredo for dinner. My mom came over at 6 p.m. We watched The Christmas Chronicles on Netflix and then enjoyed a relaxing evening.

...Jar's gifts

...Cam's gifts (speaker mounts missing)

We still really miss the snow. It just doesn't feel like Christmas without the snow. I sometimes miss our Pennsylvania Christmases. I do not miss the snow and cold for 6-7 months straight though.

Christmas at Mom's house

We had Christmas at Mom's house the Saturday before Christmas (22nd). Kyle and Karmyn and the kids came as well. Jar was not able to go because of his surgery just three days before.

We ate food and opened presents (after reading the Christmas story in Luke 2 and singing Christmas songs). We then played a game called Relative Insanity (we had to remove a lot of the cards because Joseph and Isaak were playing as well). It was pretty fun.

Watergate cake...from my childhood (I don't really care for it)

Favorite Ornaments

We do not do a themed Christmas tree or color Christmas tree. For us, it is all about our favorite ornaments...ornaments that have meaning behind them.

...for our first date - Robinhood

...because Cam works in the deli and makes lots of burgers

...Michael and I both had this toy when we were growing up, and I bought one at a yard sale for the boys when they were little

...the boys had one of these when they were little

...Jar's love of drums

...I bought this for Michael the first Christmas we went away in Sisters

...for our camping adventures

...our trip to California

...Cam's love of Star Wars

...I made this ornament when we went away to Sisters for Christmas

...Cam plays the Cello

...for my love of coffee

...Star Wars love

...again, for my love of coffee (flavored)

...this was probably our most used toy when the boys were little

...for Jar's love of video games

...because I use this every single day

...Jar's love of Doctor Who

...for Jar's crazy bike riding when he was little

...Star Wars again

...for Michael's love of tools

...for Jar's love of fishing when he was little

...for our love of Disney

...for our love of grilled food

...one of our favorite camping trips ever

...for Jar's Jeep

...the boys had one of these when they were little

...Jar's first drum - a snare drum

...for our love of reading when the boys were little (especially Dr. Seuss books)

...for my love of purses

...for our love of guitars

...because Jar works in the Produce Department

...because Jar plays the electric guitar

...Star Wars again

...for Jar's love of jackets

...for our first Christmas as a married couple

...for Cam playing the trumpet

...Michael bought this for me the first Christmas we went away to Sisters

...for my love of photography, which I passed on to Cam

...Again, our love of Dr. Seuss

I love to look at these every year we put up our tree. They all have such special meaning.
