Cheap Decor Change-Up

I was looking for a change in our master bathroom...that did not cost much. It has been the brown and gold for almost 12 years now; I was ready for a change. I found a new shower curtain and new rugs at Target for $25...it looks like a new bathroom. I love it!

It's HOT HOT HOT

It has been really hot here lately...like in the 100's. The past 5 years or so have just had really hot summers.

We have been talking about putting in an above ground permanent pool in the next few years. We had a Costco take-down pool for a few years, but the boys are older now...we need something sturdier and more permanent. Michael and I have talked about some different designs. We will probably draw up some designs in the next few weeks, even though it will still be a while before we put one in the back yard.

New Furniture

I ordered Michael a new over-sized recliner for our room. That way he can take naps on Sunday afternoon when he watches TV. I also picked up some nightstands and lamps. We had lamps that were broken and actually dangerous, and the night stands were actually cheap filing cabinets that were not that pretty. I decided to get some real night stands. They actually look like they are part of our bedding set.

Rearranged Living Room

I rearranged the living room yesterday. I really like how it turned out...it looks much bigger.

Air Conditioning

Michael and I have been married for 22 years now, and we have only had air conditioning in our house when we lived in Florida. When we first moved here, the summers were doable...it was only unbearable for about 2 weeks or so. For the past five years, it has gotten almost unbearable here. It is in the 90's for most of the summer (or very high 80's). We have talked for the past 3-4 years about getting air in the house, but something else would always come up. God provided us the money this year to finally get air conditioning...and it could not have come at a better time. It has been so hot this summer. I am so thankful to have air conditioning.

Garage Clean Out

Our garage was a mess while we were working on the kitchen. I had really cleaned out and organized the kitchen and diningroom, and I had a lot of stuff in the garage that I was going to take to Goodwill. We finally got it all cleaned out, and it looks so much better.

Kitchen Remodel

We have been talking about doing a kitchen remodel for a long time now. We were able to do everything except kitchen countertops. But, the kitchen countertops look okay and tie in the backsplash and cupboards together.

It was a lot of work and a lot of hours, but it was so worth it in the end...we have a new kitchen.
