Here are my June boxes. I had some points stacked up so I got some extra free stuff this month.

This Week...
This week was pretty quiet. We did a lot of small jobs around the house. We ran quite a few errands. I cleaned the house, and cut the boys hair.
The flowers are blooming here. They look so pretty.
I did some reading out on the back porch.
I have a lot of stuff to do tomorrow. I have to do laundry, wash Lily, clean the downstairs, and a few other things...of course, also feed these growing boys.

Lily relaxed on the couch.
Enjoying my devotions, with a glass of green iced tea.
I have been making Michael's breakfast and lunch for many years now--thought I'd take a photo.
I make sure to get my workout stuff ready the night before. That way when Michael leaves the house, I get right at it.
I love bacon...anything with bacon is so good.
I found this plate at Pier One Imports. I love owls.
We had some interesting weather this week. We had sun, but we also had some pretty hard rain.
I colored my hair. I haven't done this for about 2 years now--I needed to do it.
This was for dinner tonight...lemon rosemary olive oil chicken...and also roasted sweet potatoes.

Remember...
When the boys were little, they made Michael a bracelet one year for Father's Day or something. They also made one for his dad when he died. He was buried with it on. Michael wears the bracelet the week of his dad's death anniversary, and he also wears it the week of Father's Day.
Movie Recommendation: Chance at Romance
A really good movie that I recommend is Chance at Romance (Hallmark movie). I watched it again this weekend, and I really enjoyed it. It is a little cheesy, but a good clean movie for the whole family.
Memory Boxes
I am not a pack-rat, but I do like to keep things that are special. I have made memory boxes for each of the boys filled with special notes or certificates they have won or just anything special to them. Someday they will go through these and appreciate those special things.
School Portfolios
Since I have home-schooled the boys every year, I have kept detailed portfolios of their work every year. The entire bottom of the closet in the office is full of their portfolios. I don't look forward to having to go through them someday to see what they want to keep and what they want to get rid of.
Glimpse of my Weekend
It was a great Father's Day weekend. We did not do anything big, but we did a few small things that made it special.
F R I D A Y:
On Friday night we watched some of our shows. I made some goulash and garlic bread. Michael picked some olives up for me at Whole Foods...I had been craving them all week.
S A T U R D A Y:
On Saturday, Michael got up early to caulk the camper. I did my workout on the Elliptical. I also made the boys German pancakes, and I made brownie chocolate chip cookies. We took Michael to see Spiderman 2 for his Father's Day treat.

After the movie, we stopped at Best Buy for a little bit, and then we stopped by Wendy's for small frosty's. When we got home, Michael headed back outside to work on the camper. The boys and I just hung out.
S U N D A Y:
On Sunday, we went to church, and then came home and made steak and corn on the grill, with mashed potatoes. It was delicious. We watched a Hallmark movie called Chasing a Dream--it was really good. Michael then headed outside to wax the camper, and I worked on vacation plans. We came together later that night and watched Signed, Sealed, Delivered and some Disney shows

Happy Father's Day, Michael
Happy Father's Day, Michael. I knew from the time we met that you would be a great father. You were so good with kids (mainly your nieces and nephews).
You have been a great dad to the boys. They love to spend time with you...especially laughing.
I cannot believe that neither of us has our father here anymore. It seems weird not to be giving them cards and gifts. We both had great fathers, and I am so glad for that.
The boys and I thought of you and what you love...so it is to "please a man through his stomach." Yesterday, we pleased you by taking you to an action movie. Today, it is all about "steak and potatoes and corn"...your favorite. I hope that you enjoy it.
We love you. Thank you for taking care of us...and always BEING THERE for us. You are the B E S T dad.

Song of the Year: Happy
This is the song for the year. This song is just so uplifting. It makes you want to get up and dance.
Saying "I'm Sorry"
Saying "I'm sorry" is not always the easiest thing to do. It is hard to admit when you are wrong. I think it is so important though. I think that it is really important for our kids to hear us apologize to them when we have wronged them.
I have always tried to do this. I have made many mistakes as a mom. There have been many times that I have blamed the wrong child for something or when I have scolded them for something I thought they didn't do that they were supposed to do. I have always tried to apologize to my boys when I know that I have been wrong.
It is important to also teach our children to learn how to say "I'm sorry" properly. There are four steps that are important. We need to teach them to say...

- "Will you forgive me?"
UPS...too funny!
Today, Cam had an adapter delivered by UPS. When he went to get it, another UPS truck drove by the one that was parked outside our house. A few moments later the UPS truck came back and backed up next to the other UPS truck. The one driver jumped into the back of the other UPS truck and was there for a good 10-15 minutes. Cam and I joked about UPS delivering to UPS. We also joked about them stopping for a lunch break and just really not wanting to eat alone. I was imagining a pull down table and two fold-up chairs in the back of the truck. It was just too funny--I had to get a photo.
You can even see the one guy's arm coming out of the one truck |
