Favorite Product

This is seriously one of the best body butters that I have ever used. It smells unbelievable (it is a grapefruit scent). I bought this through a subscription box company. I had a major coupon, so I bought 5 of them at once.

Book Recommendation:Morning Glory

Morning Glory by Sarah Jio was one of the best books that I have read. I have always been fascinated by life on a houseboat--wondering what it would be like.

This book was really good. Here is what Amazon has to say about it...

"New York Times bestselling author Sarah Jio imagines life on Boat Street, a floating community on Seattle’s Lake Union, home to people of artistic spirit who for decades protect the dark secret of one startling night in 1959

Fleeing an East Coast life marred by tragedy, Ada Santorini takes up residence on houseboat number seven on Boat Street. She discovers a trunk left behind by Penny Wentworth, a young newlywed who lived on the boat half a century earlier. Ada longs to know her predecessor’s fate, but little suspects that Penny’s mysterious past and her own clouded future are destined to converge."

Pinterest Finds

These are my Pinterest finds for this week:

O N E:
When Michael and I lived in Pensacola, we used to go to the mall about once a month on a Friday night and get fried zucchini at the Chinese restaurant. We loved it.

These are zucchini parmesan crisps--sounds delicious

When I was growing up, my mom would make fried squash from our garden. I loved it, and I can still taste it to this day. I have made it a couple of times since I have been married.

Movie Recommendation: Parent Trap

One of my favorite movies is Parent Trap. Now, I love the old version, but the boys love the newer version. I love everything about this movie. Both versions are worth seeing.

Here is the old version:

Glimpse of my Weekend

We got a lot accomplished this past weekend.

Friday:  The whole day Friday was spent pulling the engine out of the Comet. That was a huge accomplishment.

Saturday:  Cam had his SAT's. That was all morning long. I spent the morning waiting for him. Michael worked on caulking the camper. The boys rested the rest of the afternoon. That evening we watched Red Tails.

Sunday:  The boys went to church...I was needing some time at home to regroup. I made BLT's for lunch. We relaxed the rest of the afternoon, and then we watched Signed, Sealed, Delivered and 24. I made homemade cheesecake. Everyone loved it.

Super Saturday

Well, I don't know if Cam would have called this a "Super Saturday." I feel it was "Super" because he took his SAT's today, and now he is finished. That is what I call "Super."

Cam and I got up early today (after a bad night of sleep), and headed off at 7:15 for him to take his SAT's. I waited for 45 minutes in the parking lot to make sure that he got all checked in, and then I came home for 2 hours. I then headed back and waited in the parking lot again for 1 1/2 hours for him to be done. He was exhausted but so glad to be done. Now, we wait for his scores to come at the end of the month. I am sure he did great.

I treated him to a burger and a shake at Carl Jr's on our way home. He deserved it.

Cam never naps. I guess the SAT's took it all out of him.

Friday's Letters

Dear Jesus:  Thank you for the nice day today for the boys to work on getting the engine out of the Comet.

Dear Michael:  I am praying that God will give you lots of grace during these next few months.

Dear Cam:  I am so proud of you for building your own computer...I never had any doubt that you could do it. You are amazing when it comes to technology.

Dear Jar: Well, you are one more step closer to being able to work on your car. It will be exciting to be able to get the Maverick back into the back yard.

Dear Lily:  You let me sleep through the night last night...thank you so much. I needed that.

Dear Zena:  You wanted to go outside with Dad so badly. You whined and barked until Dad came and got you. Then, you were just happy.

Dear Piano Recital:  We truly are done with piano now. That is very exciting for us.

Dear Friday Night:  I am not sure what we will do tonight. I should probably find a movie for us. Maybe we will just watch Unstoppable or Rudy that we have in our Queue.

Dear Saturday:  We plan to do laundry, cut the boys hair, wash the vehicles, and I guess whatever else needs done. Oh, and Cam has SAT...I know he is dreading that.

Dear Car Work:  I hope that you don't take too long for the boys today. It will be good if we can get it all done by dinner-time.

Dear Frozen Blueberries and Light Coconut Milk:  WOW! You were absolutely delicious this morning. I just blended you together in the blender--it turned into a creamy dessert pudding.

Dear Stress for all our family:  It seems like a lot of us are having stress in our family. This is a hard time for all of us. Money isn't everything, but it sure creates stress when you don't have enough, or even if you know you are going to lose your job.

Dear Exercise: I have really stuck with my routines for 3 weeks now. I feel really good...I just wish the scale would show all of my hard work.

Dear SAT Test:  Well, this time tomorrow Cam will have finished you. He will be so relieved.

Dear Weather:  It is an absolutely perfect day outside. I love it!

Dear Empty Refrigerator:  It is crazy to look in you and see pretty much nothing. It feels like there is nothing we can eat, and yet I have come up with meals all week long.
