Life Lately

It has been busy around here. I cannot believe that it is already September (my favorite month). Here is what has been going on around here lately.

...planning our Hawaii trip

...a beautiful morning

...watching YouTube videos and eating something I have not had in a long long long time (it tasted good, but I didn't feel very good after)

...I got this drink at Roth's (I love the can)

...making Grandma's cheesecake for Jar's birthday

...making a huge breakfast for Jar's birthday

...snacks for the Solar Eclipse weekend

...Jar on his 18th birthday

...Jar's birthday dinner (seafood pasta Alfredo)

...Jar's birthday gifts and cards (Michael and I both made jeep cards). We also got him speakers for his jeep.

...Jar ordered these custom made Nike shoes

...Michael purchased these hazelnut snickers bars. We did not really like them...we gave them to Cam.

...watering the yard

...junk yard finds

...Cam bought this special Solar Eclipse dessert

...photos of the back yard

...she wanted lots of rubs on her head

...Lily would not eat this. It was just too large for her. Zena enjoyed it though.

...loved using these pens to write a card

...Roth's and McDonald's filling up at 8 a.m. on Solar Eclipse day

...Safeway parking lot completely full

...people even lining up by our park

...my Solar Eclipse pile

...Solar Eclipse time

...the Anniversary dinner I made for Michael and I

...we also watched Chesapeake Shores and Boss Baby for our anniversary

Is THE BOSS BABY family friendly? Find out only at Movieguide. The Family and Christian Guide to Movie Reviews and Entertainment News.

...I picked up some snacks for us that we have not had in a while

...I picked up some fresh peaches and made peach cobbler

...I threw a 70th birthday party for Mom. Michael and I decorated the day before.

...sweet potatoes with eggs on top for dinner

...got this in the mail

...our set-up for cutting Lily's hair (it has become downright awful)

BLT avocado wraps (sure not as good as a regular BLT)

...Jar and Michael finished Jar's stereo setup

...lunch for me

...I got this in the mail and was able to throw it away. This is my last year of homeschooling, and I already have the books for this year.

...Michael brought these home to me from work. The tomatoes are absolute heaven! I am going to make stuffed bell peppers with the peppers.

...I got my fall stuff out today. I only decorate these three shelves.

Other happenings around here:
  • We gassed up all the vehicles in preparation for the Solar Eclipse swarm of people...which did not happen
  • I was up super early before everyone one morning...so I watched Pretty in Pink and Sixteen Candles before everyone got up
Pretty in Pink: A poor girl must choose between the affections of her doting childhood sweetheart and a rich but sensitive playboy. (Taken from IMDB)

Oh Jake Ryan {swoon} I don't know any girl that grew up in the 80's and possibly early 90's that didn't have a thing for Jake Ryan.

  • I watched Safe Haven, Best of Me, and Dear John when Michael worked really late one night
  • Michael painted the ceiling of the church offices
  • We watched Pirates of the Caribbean 2, 3, and 4
I think I'll go see Salazar's Revenge (Dead Men Tell No Tales) this weekend sometime

  • I had to take Lily to the vet for her to be put under to get her belly and butt shaved
  • Jar opened his own bank account
  • Cam and I watched Secondhand Lions
Secondhand Lions (2003) probably one of my favorite movies ever!

  • We had problems with the internet and the cable (Michael diagnosed both, and we got them fixed)
  • Michael and I ran errands to take stuff back to Best Buy, eat lunch at Wendy's, and pick up Mom's cake at Costco
  • I made hatch chili burgers...they were delicious

  • I made the best Costco meal...pork tenderloin on the grill, mac and cheese, and Caesar salad
  • Michael and I watched The Fate of the Furious
Return to the main poster page for The Fate of the Furious (#3 of 3)

  • Michael went to the Homeowner's Association meeting (what a joke!)
  • Fires in Oregon grew
  • Michael finished the trim on Jar's jeep (with the permanent paint this time)
  • Michael and I watched Megan Leavey
Megan Leavey (June 9, 2017) a biography drama based on a true story directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite. Written by Pamela Gray, Annie Mumola. A young Marine Corporal whose unique discipline and bond with her military combat dog saved many lives during their deployment in Iraq. Stars: Kate Mara, Bradley Whitford, Gerald James, Tom Felton, Common, Edie Falco, and others.
