One year anniversary of Dad's death

Wow! It is so hard to believe that it has already been one year since my dad died. It seems like just yesterday...everything is still so fresh in my mind.

The family got together last night in remembrance of him...and we talked about how difficult it was to really believe that he was gone. Last year at this time we were all struggling with it all. It was good that we could all come together and remember him, but it was also good that we could joke about some unique things about Dad (like even that he used to eat Long John Silvers fish-n-chips--and he loved it, or even that he ate and loved hoagies). This is funny because he was so picky about his food later in life.

We sure miss him...we miss joking with him about his own food that he would bring to our get-togethers (cause he was vegetarian).

I use She Reads Truth for my devotions. Today it was about "In Everything Give Thanks." This was a good lesson for today due to the anniversary of Dad's death. The truth for today was "It is not up to you to be the god of your circumstances. It is for you to give thanks to the One who is larger than your circumstances." I really thought this was a good lesson for today...Praise God!!!

  2. Time goes by so fast, it's hard to believe it's already been 1 year since he passed; however, it was good to get the family together and reflect on your dad and his uniqueness. :)
