I believe that this happened when we were first married. I looked for a photo that we have of us on the horses, but I could not find it.
Anyway, I think that this happened when we all came together for Grandma Johnson's funeral. Jana got the idea that all of us adults would go horseback riding. There was Jana and Tom, Nish and Larry, Sherry, and Michael and I.
When we got to the stables, the lady started assigning horses to everyone. Michael got a really large horse, and she put me with a smaller horse..."not as aggressive," she said. We all started out on our ride with the tour guide. She tells us that it has just rained a lot so there are a lot of "large puddles" to go through, and that we should not let our horses lie down while going through the water. We start out. Michael's horse is somewhat aggressive, so he was at the front of the pack. Larry and I both had lazier horses, so we were at the back of the pack. We get to this large puddle...or small pond...and the lady yells, "keep your horses moving." Well, Larry and I being at the back had to go more slowly waiting for the others to get through as well. As soon as Larry's horse hit the water, it wanted to lie down, but he was able to keep it moving while it was doing so. He barely got wet. My horse, however, decided to just flat out take a nap right there in the water. It went completely down. That water was up to my waist. Everyone else just sat up on the bank in shock and laughing. Larry was the only one that came to my aid. It took the tour guide a little bit to get the horse up out of the water. We continued on our tour...I was soaked and muddy.
When we got back to the stables, the tour guide came to me and said laughingly, "That crazy horse has done that every time I have taken him out this week." "Thanks for the heads-up after the fact, lady," is what I thought angrily inside.
Now, I laugh at that story. I so wish that I had a photo or video of the horse going down in that water. The boys would love it. I am sure it looked funny. It was not funny at the time, but it sure is now.

You might have gotten angry, but the rest of us had a great laugh.
