Thoughts of summer

We are getting lots of snow here today. I thought that it would be fun to do a summer post today.

Some of my favorite parts about summer as a kid:

• Rolling down the front yard hill
• Doing gymnastics in the front yard
• Playing basketball on our basketball court
• Mowing the grass on the riding lawnmower
• Walking/hiking through the back woods by the creek
• Catching tadpoles in the back creek
• Swimming in our pool
• Getting done with weeding the garden...and then swimming
• Catching lightning bugs
• Making homemade ice cream
• Playing tag outside in the yard
• Eating fresh food from our garden
• Riding bike...with no hands
• Riding bike to our small town grocery store
• No school work
• Staying up late
• Camping
• Knobles Grove Amusement Park
• Bloomsburg Fair
• Laying out in the sun
• Being with friends
• Reading a book out in the yard or on the front porch
• Picking berries...except for the bears
• Making molasses popcorn
• Getting ice cream cones
