Here are some things I've learned from living with a boy:
- When he makes the bed, it does not have to be made exactly like I make it
- "Fine" really means "Beautiful"
- "There's nothing you can do about it" really means "I feel helpless, and I don't know what else to say or do"
- When he does things, they do not have to be done in the same way that I do them...as long as the end result is the same
- We will get there one way or another...it may take longer than if we had stopped and asked for directions...but we will get there
- He likes to make a mess when he cooks, but hey, I did not have to cook it
- He will not notice things like I do--pillows on the floor and not on the couch; chairs not pushed in; crumbs on the counter
- If you really want to make them happy, make them meat and potatoes...like every night
- They probably won't do it unless you ask, so just ask them
- Noises come from all parts of the body, at all times of the day (WHY?)
- When he says he'll be home soon, he really means in about 4 hours or so
- They think that clean clothes magically appear in their drawers
- They must look for things with their eyes closed, because they can't ever seem to find what they are looking for
- "I'll give you a back rub" is not at all what you think it means
Ok, so this list is totally hilarious...and so true. Of course, you left out the one about little outfits always being on his mind. :)
