Sentimental

The boys have some stuffed animals that I have hung on to that hold some sentimental value. Jar has always loved stuffed animals, especially dog ones. He has a cute one that even looks a lot like Lily. I have hung on to some of these for him. Cam just has one special one that means so much and takes me right back to the day of the event.

He was 4 years old, and he was getting his tonsils out. I was so nervous for him. We had purchased the gorilla at Walmart a few days before the event. He held right on to the gorilla the whole time. It was so special and sweet. It was the most terrible thing to watch him being wheeled out in his hospital bed behind the doors where we could not follow him...where his surgery would take place. When he came out of surgery, he was groggy and disoriented and kept wanting to cry/talk. I finally climbed into bed with him to keep him calm and quiet. He did so well, and he really enjoyed the ice cream, pudding, and jello that he got to eat.  What a trooper!

  1. I remember how helpless we felt not being able to ease his pain...but Cam was a trooper, loving all the attention, eating ice cream, and snuggling with his monkey.
