Life Lately

September is always my favorite month, but since I have not been feeling great, I did not do all of my fun normal things that I like to do. September was also very rainy, which is very unusual. I do not think it has rained in September the thirteen years that we have lived here.

Here is what has been happening around here lately:

...Michael went to Boston on a business trip for work and stopped in Indiana on his way. Here are some photos of his time in Indiana:

with Uncle Roland and Aunt Karon
with cousin Kirsten

with cousin Kirsten and sister Sherry

...playing with the aging app

lifelong friends...the McKinneys
...some photos from Boston

where Cheers was filmed
...Michael painting the kitchen

...I found these at Safeway

...I got my fall decor out of the attic

...Cam got his diploma from college, so I went through all of his homeschool portfolios and got rid of most of it (it ended up being way more emotional than I thought it was going to be)

...I sent this photo to Michael while he was away in Boston

...these are some of Cam's drawings (I call him the next Chip Foose)

...another school portfolio finding

...when Michael was away I told the boys they could get one thing at the grocery store, and I would pay them back. Jar got a whole case of coconut water :)

...this is what Cam got - all junk food :)

...I organized the utensil drawer

...I keep going more minimal and getting rid of more and more stuff. I got rid of one of the tall storage cabinets in the dining room. This is the mess before I got it all put away

...here it is finished with now only one tall storage cabinet

...Mom brought me breakfast on my birthday (so sweet)

...this is what my three men got me for my birthday :)

...the hung sign in the laundry room

...the plant that I got for my birthday

...the finished entry table

...Mom went on a 10-day trip to San Diego to be with her sisters. Here are a few photos

...cute outfit on Jar

...Michael laying the new flooring in the master bathroom

...I got rid of most of my books (I only own about 15 now). Here are two of my favorites:

...I bought this tiered piece for Mom for her birthday/Mother's Day gift. Here it is decorated:

...Mom brought these back for me from Coronado Island as a thank you gift for watering her flowers

...I used to have hundreds of books (I have always loved to read). I am now down to around 15 books, as I am really trying to become very minimal. They are all health books.

Other happenings around here lately:
  • the butterfly machine broke and hit Jar in the head
  • the boys went to the Salem Fair with their college friends
  • Michael had an HOA meeting
  • we celebrated Michael's and my birthday
  • we watched Secret Life of Pets 2

  • Michael and I watched a lot of Gilmore Girls
  • I have been watching a lot of Friends (I am trying to finish it by Christmas, as they are removing it from Netflix in the spring)
  • Michael and I watched A Dog's Purpose

  • Jar worked on pumpkins at work...he moved 6,000 lbs. of them in one day
  • I started using Audible to listen to audio books (I love it)
  • I had an eye appointment (so I can rule out my eyes causing the imbalance, cause my eyes are fine)
  • I feel like a very slight improvement has been made in my anxiety issues
