Life Lately

I cannot believe it has been over a month since I have posted on what has been going on around here. We have been very busy. Cam has been extremely busy with work and college. Jar and I have been super busy with organizing the house and yard work. Michael has been very busy at work and at home...with lots of summer projects. He was also gone for a week to Florida for his mom's 70th birthday.

Here are some photos of what has been happening around here:

• This is my stash of makeup...I have been wearing makeup a little more during the week

• this crazy kid...he and I are on our way out to run errands (he loves his hats)

• I cut some hydrangeas from the yard

• We added two extra shelves in the boys' bedroom closets...then I organized them

• We went into Salem to run some errands (I had a free drink at Dutch Bros.)

• This was our chauffeur 

• We stopped by my mom's house (she has such a cute "Grandma" house)

• On our errands, we also stopped by Best Buy (the boys loved this kind of stuff when they were younger)

• Then we stopped by Target for a few things (I love the school supply aisles)

• What we got while we were out and about

• Cam got a new case for his computer

• pizza and YouTube videos

• We tried out a new coffee shop with Grandma

• We then went to Guitar Center

• While Michael was gone to Florida, Jar played ball with Zena every day...she loved it

• Lily tries to help fold laundry

• I did some organizing in the garage

• Jar washed the truck

• I have been enjoying cereal for breakfast

• pizza for the boys

• I bought this cute elephant at Marshall's for $5.00

• I got bins to organize the boys t-shirts

• I got some perfume for me, and cologne for Michael and Cam on fragrance.net

I got this for Michael as a "welcome home" present

• Safeway now sells cold-pressed juices (I picked up a couple because they were on sale)

• I love beauty products (these are mostly ones I received in my boxes)

• after going through a house to buy, the boys decided to have their own rooms

• One afternoon Jar decided to go into the back yard and practice front flips

• As I was cleaning out the boy's rooms, I found some momentum stuff

• Watching YouTube tutorials while working on my schedule

• While cleaning the boy's rooms, I came across all of their baby books...I organized them into the hutch (I skimmed them quickly...brought back a lot of memories)

• While paying bills, Lily sat on the chair beside me smoking her pipe...I mean eating her treat

• We finished the fire pit, and I have been watering the yard, so the yard really looks good right now

• We cleaned out the back shed of all of the Maverick car parts...as we have to get rid of it

• We packed the truck with junk for the dump

• Then...we got rid of the Maverick

• I colored and highlighted Jar's hair (he wanted to do this for his birthday)

• Cam went on a college camping trip

• Michael's car got here (he was like a little kid)

• Cam worked a lot

• Michael went on a trip to Florida

Other things going on in the past month:

• Cam did power point at church...twice
• Cam had a lot of hard college Algebra work
• Twice I got gas in the truck for $1.50 a gallon (using my grocery shopping points)
• The boys, Grandma, and I watched the movie "The Finest Hours"

• The boys and I have been watching American Ninja Warrior every Monday night
• Cam's laptop computer died; he had to buy a new one (he was not sad about that)
• Cam registered for his fall term classes
• We watched all of the Bourne movies

• We went to look at a house to buy
• We got quote about building a garage in the back yard
• The boys went to Hoopla in Salem
• Cam got food poisoning...and was sick for two days (he had to call into work sick)
• We watched all of the Olympics (swimming and diving are my favorite)

I absolutely love watching the Olympics. I have done so since I was a teenager. I really got into the Olympics when I was pregnant with Cam. The summer Olympics happened that year. I wrote down all of the people from the US that won medals. Some of the names that stuck out to me were: Amanda Beard (swimming), Gary Hall, Jr. (swimming), Amy VanDyken (swimming), Jenny Thompson (swimming), Jeremy Lind (swimming), Dominique Dawes (gymnastics), Gail Devers (track and field), Carl Lewis (track and field), Michael Johnson (track and field), and Jackie Joyner Kersey (track and field). I still continue to really love the Olympics. I mostly love the swimming events for the summer Olympics. Of course, Michael Phelps is one of my favorites to watch (although I loved Gary Hall, Jr. in the 1996 Olympics). This year will be no different. I will mostly watch the swimming events, but I will also watch the track and field events, the diving events, and the water rowing events. I really don't care much anymore for the gymnastic events...I watched way way way too many of them growing up--now I just don't care about it any more. I love the swimming and diving events most.

We are really beginning to get our house super organized. I am so jazzed about this. We are really simplifying everything...I love it so much.

We are going to clean out the shed and garage this weekend. I cannot wait to get it done. The garage has been a mess for a while, and I am just ready to get it all neat and organized.

• The Malibu is finally here

The Malibu is finally here. The timing was a little stressful, but we will get that all worked out...in time. We are just glad that it is finally back with Michael.

Our yard finally looks great

The past 4 years or so I have just let the yard go...I was tired of watering it every week. This year I decided to start taking care of it again, and it really is starting to look good. I am really happy with it.
