Glimpse of Last Weekend

It was a relaxing weekend. I did laundry and did some organizing around the house. I moved Michael's 'station' to another spot...it was driving me crazy near the stove (it was always in my way).

I also made some roasted chicken.

Box from Grandma

Last week we got a box from Grandma. The boys were excited. It had some birthday gifts for me and some junk food for them.

Day out with Mom

Last week we met Mom at Red Robin. The funny thing was that the boys and I stopped by Pier 1 before meeting her. Right as we got there, Cam said, "I think Grandma just went into the store." Sure enough, she was in there. She had the same idea.

Here is Pier 1.

Here we are at Red Robin.

After Red Robin, we went to Target to just walk around...and try out some things.

I purchased these couple of things while we were out.

As usual, it was a really fun day out with mom. The boys even said so. We enjoy the simple things.

Fall is just around the corner

I cannot believe that fall is right around the corner. I cannot believe that it is September already. The summer truly did fly by so quickly.

Fall is my favorite season. I love the cool, crisp mornings...and the cooler evenings. I love the changing of the leaves (although I really miss Pennsylvania for this). I also love the decorations of the fall.

We live in a small house, and we have no storage, so I don't have very many decorations. Today I put out the few that I do have.

I got this phone attachment for my cell phone...I love it

Cell Phone Charging Station

We just recently got our new cell phones. I needed a charging station for us--I finally found one that I really liked on Amazon.

Glimpse of my Weekend

It was a nice long weekend, with having Monday off for Labor Day, and Michael taking Friday off as well.

Friday:  We got a lot of projects done around the house. On Friday, we did tons of yard work. We weeded the whole yard and flower beds, we trimmed all of the bushes, and we mowed the grass. It looks really good. Friday evening we watched Doctor Who.

Saturday:  It rained all day long, so we rested from the night before. I wrote in my journal. Mom came over for a few hours, and I made BLT's for lunch. We watched more Doctor Who.

Sunday:  We went to church. It was a good service. The message was really good, talking about what is important as it relates to doctrine/preferences. What do we get stuck on that really doesn't matter when it comes to our Faith?

I picked up some fresh picked tomatoes on our way out the door of church. They were delicious. Michael worked on the boys writing class the rest of the afternoon.

Monday:  I made french toast for breakfast. The boys played games with the cousins all afternoon. Michael worked on finishing up the writing class lesson work. We got to bed at a good time, because Tuesday was our first day of school.

First Day of School

Today was our first day of school.

For the past 7 years, the boys have had Dairy Queen sausage biscuits and gravy for breakfast on the first day of school. They love that.

I also take photos on their first day of school.

Today was a good day of school. The first week is always much easier. It is a pretty light load...and they don't have any tests.
