Braces Off

Cam first got his braces in September of 2011. He was supposed to get them removed in September of 2013, but it took another 7 months to get his teeth completely straight.

He got his braces taken off yesterday, April 29th. He was so excited. I took some photos of him with Dr. Amborn.

I love old barns. I always have. When I go on a trip, I love to take photos of old barns. They are just so beautiful.

Wellsboro House

Our first apartment was really special because it was our first place together. Our first house together was special because it is where Cam was born. We loved that house.

Movie Recommendation: Charlie St. Cloud

I really enjoyed the movie Charlie St. Cloud. I watched it a while ago, and then again watched it yesterday.

Glimpse of our Weekend

It was a very quiet weekend.

Michael worked late on Friday night and all day Saturday. The boys and I just hung out together.

We stayed in from church on Sunday...because Michael had worked so much all week long. I made a big breakfast of eggs, bacon, and toast. It was delicious. We watched a Disney movie while eating. It was called Going to the Mat. It was a pretty good movie.

We relaxed all afternoon. Michael and Cam made me a shelf for my computer, so that I could stand while doing work on the computer. It turned out great.

I made steak and potatoes for dinner, and we watched The Book Thief. We also watched a Signed Sealed Delivered episode.

Our First Apartment

The first 2 years of our marriage we lived in a garage apartment...like Fonzie on Happy Days. It was awesome. We paid $215.00 a month for 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen, and living room. This was back when life was simple. I paid bills once a month--only had to write a few checks (around 5) and mail them. We did not have responsibilities, except for paying rent and utilities. It was a wonderful time.

I don't have pictures of every spot in our apartment, but I have a few that show some parts of it. I wish that I had taken more photos of it.

Here are a couple of the outside of the apartment:

This was our view outside our kitchen window:

Here is the dining room, that is really part of the living room:

Stretching

Stretching feels so good. It feels good to stretch after a workout. It feels good to stretch after sitting for too long. It feels good to stretch when you are tired. It is important to do some stretching exercises every single day.

What God Has Taught Me

My devotions this week was on kindness. The neat thing I read this week was about using kindness as a way to witness. Kindness is a fruit of the spirit and a powerful context in which to genuinely speak to others about the Lord. When you help a stranger in need, tell them that you are glad to help them and that you are doing it is Jesus' name.

Friday's Letters

Dear Jesus:  Thank you for helping us get through this week of school. It was a tough week.

Dear Michael:  I am praying for you during this scary and so unsure time.

Dear Cam:  Great job getting your work done all at once and not saving it until later.

Dear Jar: You had a lot of work this week in school. Thank you for not having an attitude and for just sticking with it and getting it done.

Dear Lily:  You wanted that cookie sitting on Dad's chest so badly last night. Your whole body was shaking.

Dear Pineapple and Coconut Oil Smoothie:  You were so delicious this morning.

Dear Friday Night:  Tonight might be a quiet night at home...we are not sure if Michael has to work or not.

Dear Laundry:  I was not in the mood at all to take care of you today. But, the boys need their clean clothes, so I guess I will just have to do it.

Dear Cookies in a Cast Iron Skillet:  I cannot wait to try these today. I am using gluten-free flour.

Dear Weekend: I am not sure what is going on this weekend. I need to catch up on my journal writing.

Dear Cooking:  I have done so much of that this week. I don't want to cook at all today...I don't see that happening though. (especially with these two hunger monsters I have at home)

Dear Weather:  This week was rainy. There were a few peeks of the sun, but it was mostly overcast. It rained really hard yesterday.

Dear School:  We only have 2 1/2 weeks of school left. I can't wait. I know that the boys are excited as well.

Dear Yard:  I don't know if we will be able to mow you this weekend. It is pretty wet outside.
